The ultimate goal for all of the below methods is to have two folders - one for WotLK, and one for Cataclysm. This way you are able to switch back and forth between expansions. The version you need to connect to our server is the same one that is displayed on the front page Realm Status (top right). If you accidentally patch too far, or if you're coming from retail, there is a pre-patched Wow.exe below in Patch Method #2 that you can use. View the FAQ for more info.

Choose ONE Install Method

Install Method 1

1. Download the Torrent (Slower, but safest. ~8 hours of downloading at 1 MB/s) (Please seed after you download)

Install Method 2

Incremental Updates (Safe, but slightly more advanced. ~6 hours of downloading)

1. Create a copy of your WotLK folder (20-30 GB in size - make sure you have room!).
2. Choose a folder and download/install incremental patches from WoWWiki.

Install Method 3

Run Launcher.exe (Working fine for all 4.X versions)

1. Create a copy of your WotLK folder (20-30 GB in size - make sure you have room!).
2. Choose either folder and run the Launcher.exe inside it. Wait until the Launcher completes the update (~1-4 hours)
3. You MUST continue with patch method #2 below if you choose this install method

Choose ONE Patch Method

Patch Method 1

Use the Skyfire Patcher (For use with Install Methods #1 and #2)

1. Download the SkyFirePatcher.7z (What is this thing?)
2. Place the SkyFirePatcher.exe in your 4.X Cataclysm folder and run it.

Patch Method 2

Use the Pre-patched Wow.exe (For use with Install Method #1, #2, or #3)

1. Download the Pre-patched Wow.exe.7z
2. Extract the Wow.exe within this archive into your 4.X Cataclysm folder and replace the Wow.exe that is already there.

Final Steps

In your Cataclysm folder, open your \Data\enXX\realmlist.wtf file in Notepad, delete all the text, and copy/paste this inside:

       set realmlist logon.eternal-wow.com

After saving your realmlist.wtf, run Wow.exe and log in using your normal Eternal-WoW login (and avoid running the Launcher.exe again, unless instructed to do so). Enjoy!

Mac Users

The Skyfire Patcher does work on the WoW Mac executable. Follow similar instructions above and enjoy! This is not fully tested, so if this doesn't work, see this thread.
